It is our intention to perform a rough grade on your site when the pool and concrete installations are complete. Similar to building a home, our teams excavate and perform construction work and grading needed for the pool installation itself. Once construction is complete, we will establish a grade and elevation appropriate for your site accurate to a few inches of the final dirt elevations. Read More...
There are more and more manufacturers producing pergolas, pavilions, and shade shelters than ever before. They are shipped directly to you from the factory ready for assembly. These units are usually of high quality materials and well-crafted providing homeowners a huge value compared to custom built on site structures. Customers will often ask if they can place one of these structures on top of our concrete once it's poured. The short answer is yes. Read More...
While installing swimming pools it is not uncommon to hit or damage underground utilities such as internet cable, cable TV, phone lines, and of course down spout / sump pump pipes that go to the street. Though we do our very best to work around those items, more often than not there is damage that will need to be addressed. It is the law to call OUPS (Ohio Utilities Protection Service) 72 hours before any excavation takes place. When OUPS is notified of an excavation they notify all of the utility companies that are listed as having lines in the work area. Those cable, phone, and electric lines are marked by location services that are hired by that utility company. Read More...
When you are building a new home and know that you want to have a pool you should keep a few things in mind. First is the placement of the pool in the back yard. It’s important that there are no utilities in that area such as electric service, sewer, waterline, and sprinkler mains. The next consideration is going to be elevation. Read More...

Why do people purchase salt chlorinators?
I honestly think that most are sold because of hype. Misinformation by both pool "guys" and pool owners alike flood the internet and make these systems out to be the "magic bullet" to pool maintenance. There are people that have been told and or read that a salt pool takes care of itself and they don't have to test it!!! That simply is not the case. These systems are handy and convenient in that you don't have to purchase chlorine. Most of our customers are buying a 50 pound bucket of chlorine every 2 years so it's not like that is a huge chore anyway. Spending $1800 on a system to not spend $150 per year is not a wise economic decision. That's a 12 year return on investment IF your cell lasts that long which it won't. Read More...

Like it or not we live in a world where government seems to be involved in everything with an unquenchable thirst for control, money, and power. With the recent decline in construction type projects this has meant that building and zoning departments have found themselves with even MORE time to scrutinize projects that are going on in an effort to further justify their own existence. Building and Zoning departments though started as a result of a legitimate need for public safety and health have become no more than a means for government to get into your pocket and your lives without anything you can do about it. If the EPA is involved expect absolute rule and unchecked power. In other words if they say no, more certain than death – the answer is NO. Read More...
Yes you heard me correctly. There are people that should in fact buy a vinyl liner pool. I estimate that somewhere around 5% of residential pool buyers should look at installing a vinyl liner in ground pool. There are some customer that have a project parameters that just cant always be accomplished with fiberglass pools. This segment of the market is typically going to fall into needing one of the following: Read More...
If and HOW you're going to heat your pool is a definitely a consideration when you are planning your project. If a heater is in the budget I highly recommend heat pumps. They are by far the best and easiest way to heat your pool. If not many people ask if they should get a solar cover. My answer is no. Though they absolutely work to heat the pool as well as retain heat at night, they have other shortcomings that I think are not worth it. Read More...
